The Master of Theological Studies degree, available online or on campus, is an academic degree that provides a basic understanding of graduate theological disciplines for further graduate study or for general educational purposes. General coursework includes biblical hermeneutics, spiritual formation, biblical languages, Christian theology, and Old and New Testament.
Through the concentration in History of Christianity, you will:
- Explore historical developments of the Church, with special emphasis on renewal movements and the history of Christian thought globally.
- Choose additional coursework on topics from early, medieval and modern Christianity to Martin Luther, Lutheran Christianity and theology and culture, according to your area of interest.
- Increase your understanding of renewal and reconstruction of the past, African Pentecostalism and systematic theology.
Prepare to participate in theological research, writing, and teaching or in academic and research pursuits leading to academic doctoral work.
