Juris Doctor

On-Campus Degree

The Juris Doctor (JD) degree, offered exclusively on campus, is academically excellent and competitive with law schools nationwide. With an internationally recognized faculty and robust advocacy skills training program, you will gain basic knowledge of the law in key areas, including torts, contracts, property, civil procedure, criminal law, constitutional law, business associations and evidence. This program focuses on legal analysis, writing, problem solving and principled leadership. Regent Law students are uniquely equipped to practice law ethically and professionally, with honesty, integrity and Christian values. Students typically complete this degree in three years; however, it may be completed as a 2-year (May start), 3-year (August start), or part-time program (August start).

Students in the JD program will receive:

  • The opportunity to compete on award-winning Moot Court, Negotiation and Trial Advocacy teams.
  • Many externship and practical opportunities including internships with the Center for Global Justice, Human Rights and the Rule of Law.
  • Instruction within The Center for Advocacy, developing practical lawyering skills through clinical practice, including a civil litigation clinic, a robust legal research and writing curriculum and a partnership with the American Center for Law and Justice (the nation’s foremost public interest law firm defending religious liberties).

Career Opportunities: After passing the bar examination, Juris Doctor program graduates are eligible for positions involving administrative law/regulated industries, constitution and public law, corporate and commercial law, family law, health law, intellectual property, international law, legal theory and history, legal history, litigation, property/real estate, taxation, wills and trusts.
